Director, Senior Interior Designer
Lisa is a senior professional and director of the practice. She is a confident and competent leader who will deliver on all key project objectives. Lisa works strongly with the project stakeholders and specialist contributors to deliver delightful and cost effective design solutions. As principal of The Peppermint Room, she allocates project resources and oversees the team.
Lisa has been designing and renewing interiors since 1995. In 2002 she began her ten-year tenure as an interior design lecturer and course coordinator at the Canberra Institute of Technology.
Lisa joined The Peppermint Room interior in 2012, with the aim of re-connecting with the industry as a working designer. As the Senior Interior Designer, Lisa leads the talented interior and graphic design staff. In 2013 Lisa became a Director and now shares leadership of the practice with Ric Small and Nicholas Goodwin.
Lisa and her team bring fresh new ideas to design, coming up with exactly what the client wants and needs by listening then researching and developing unique and sustainable concepts that function beautifully. The process requires Lisa to think critically to anticipate, identify and then solve problems.
Outstanding project outcomes in the retail, hospitality, residential, health, aged care, education and corporate sectors are the result of Lisa’s creative expertise and her highly relational and collaborative approach to the project journey. Nothing pleases her more than to see dreams and designs realised in a customised, finished product that exceeds expectations.
While confirming that all architectural styles have their place, Lisa has a soft spot for the Art Nouveau - no bounds - architectural art form. What really excites her, however, is to see the clever, innovative and effective reuse of environments and materials.
Late nineteenth century and early twentieth century Scottish architect, designer, columnist and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, is Lisa’s industry hero. She loves his ability to blend exterior and interior design elements to create inspiring, customised environments for each client.
When Lisa has finally put down all the balls she keeps in the air in her professional life, she pulls out a personal craft project and lets her design skills loose once again.
